About Me

My name is Kenneth Alexander Forde. I am the man behind the camera at K40 Photography. K40 represents my hunger for photography, the first taste of which came at an early age. At around eight years old, I wanted to be an Architect so I kept a picture journal of all the architectural miniatures I created. Unfortunately, my dreams of becoming an architect were crushed when I met an actual Architect. The requirements of the job were not what my young heart had envisioned; instead, it was the picture journal which had truly captured my fancy and my love for photography continued to grow as I did. My mother was my biggest support from the beginning, acting as the designated photographer on chaperoned trips, so that we could learn the trade together.  Once I became of working age, I received excellent opportunities to travel across the U.S. A, so I took my equipment along for the ride. While in college, I was able to further hone my photography skills and gathered experience photographing subjects in other countries. Through continued development, I intend on operating my own photography studio in the near future, and it will be christened K40 Photography.

This moniker is a play on my own name; the “K” being my first initial, the “A” from my logo being my middle initial, and “40” symbolizing a common mispronunciation of my last name: many say “Forde” – pronounced “Ford” – with emphasis on the ending “e”. While at first a source of extreme annoyance, the mispronunciation has become a pleasant inside joke that I reclaimed and made my own. K40 is an extension of me: my perception, my longing, my drive.  Each picture, developed with passion, reveals the awes and curiosities of the world. Enjoy the view.
